Is it normal that i temporarily lose conciousness when i smoke weed?

I have been an avid fan of smoking weed for well over 15 years. There have been some breaks here and there but otherwise a daily user. A few years ago I injured my neck and have had issues with my neck and arm, nervewise ever since. I take prescription painkillers on a daily basis as well. Recently I have been having a strange occurrence when I take a big hit. About 6-8 months ago, I started having these dizzy spells when I'd cough pretty hard. Well about a month or so ago, I started blacking out for a split second sometimes. A couple weeks ago, I was standing with a couple friends and we were smoking some tasty stuff. I took a normal hit but it made me cough really hard, and I started to get weak in the knees and then everything went black for like 2-3 seconds. I landed face down on my buddy's table. I've had that feeling a few times since and as long as I'm holding or leaning on something I don't fall over. Honestly, the sensation of the blackout itself is AMAZING and I don't feel the pain as much for a while after, but I'm scared of what this may indicate, medically..... PLEASE help!! Thank you

The more drugs I do, the more I black out when I cough. It can be anything from weed, to weed in combination, which does it more. I also crave the sensation of blacking out and do nothing to stop it, except that to make sure I am sitting down. Rarely I have fully passed out, sometimes I find myself seizing a little, and often it is so disorienting it takes me a second to regain my thought train. I have also made myself pass out on purpose, but not obsessively or even very often. I just like the sensation. I don't know if liking the sensation is normal, but I figure blacking out when you cough is. It also helps to give a big stretch when you do it, and you will black out for sure. The pain killers are definitely making it worse.

Sounds like you temporarily aren't getting enough oxygen. Maybe try hand-bonging so you can regulate how much air you get.
