Is it normal that i talk to myself?

I talk out loud in a regular voice sometimes. I talk as though there is somebody there in the room with me. I'll talk about my day or something funny or pretty much anything. I know there is no one there, even while I do it. So why do I do it? I'm pretty sure I'm not crazy or anything. I only do it when no one is around. Sometimes when someone is around and I get angry I'll go some place where I can be alone and I whisper to myself about it. Like I said, I know no one is really there and I don't answer myself or anything. I had a friend tell me once that he thinks I just like voicing my thoughts out loud. Any thoughts? Sorry if this is in the wrong category.

I talk to things I'm doing.

For example I'm fighting a bolt off my lawnmower and say "Take that you fucker!!!" once I succeed.

    You talk about your day?
What is your response? "yes I know I WAS THERE!"

I sing to myself when I'm alone. I think as long as your not doing it in front of other people it's okay. I hate when a person is talking and I say, huh or what and their response is, "I was talking to myself." It's bad enough that they're rude but what's worse is they're rude about something abnormal that basically makes them look like kooks. What you're doing sounds harmless enough to me but if it bothers you maybe you could see a professional?

I do the exact same thing. I sit and muse on various subjects to myself because, when I talk to other people, they moan that I complain all the time. I know I complain a bit but I don't as much as they claim. The problem is, when they tell me to stop complaining, I stick up for myself and explain that I'm not complaining. When I do this they say I'm complaining more. There's a clear distinction between complaining and defending yourself.

Talking to yourself is fine, replying isn't.

[Voicing your thoughts out loud] sound about right.

I could never personally do it as I am paranoid about privacy and will not ever let my true thoughts be heard by anyone.

As for [talking as though there is somebody there in the room with you]:
Your brain may just one day surprise you and create another self-aware personality if you actually believe someone is there, and the imaginary person that had to listen to all your crap may just start responding.
