Is it normal that i sweat a lot?

First off, I'm not a very active person. I jump rope and play sports every now and again, but I usually find myself curled up in the comfort of my room playing mmorpgs.

However.
I tend to sweat a lot after showers, during and after working out, and even at random times of the day when I find myself doing something at least somewhat strenuous. I know it seems pretty common to sweat when you're working out, but sweating a lot and being a girl makes it kind of... Unnerving. It's embarrassing for me. I used to think it was normal until I realized the sweat I was spewing out of my pores made me appear to be a walking water fountain and a weenie who doesn't have the muscle to do a single thing without breaking into sweat.

I think it may be because I barely drink water and it's my body's last resort to cooling myself down or hydrating itself, but then again...
I tried drinking water often for a while and I still kind of sweat all nasty. It's just that it appears more under my arms than on my face.

Deodorants don't work for me, by the way. If I were to put some on after a shower and stuff when I feel squeaky clean, I still sweat like a pig.

It's like temperature doesn't matter. I sweat all day everyday; sweatin' in every season of the year.

It's really embarrassing. It makes me intimidated to raise my arm or do any sort of movement because I start thinking everyone can sniff me and think, "Sweet Jesus, who let the stanky vagrant with poor hygiene in here?"

If I can't get rid of having so much sweat and feeling disgusting, can't I at least make it stop stinking so bad?

Wear scuba gear. Nobody will notice the sweat. They may laugh at your scuba gear, though. Especially if you live on dry land.

About 10 years ago I started sweating profusely and I don't know why. All I have to do is literally think of something and I start sweating. I'm not overweight and I'm a very active guy, although I don't drink lots of water, and if I do it doesn't help. I also quit caffeine and that hasn't helped either. It is really embarrassing and has gotten to the point for me that I'm now trying to avoid highly active activities that take me out in public. I'm kinda stuck on saying it's normal to sweat a lot. I watch my kids go outside and play sports all day and barely sweat. Makes me miss my youth. Good luck, and I hope you find an answer that helps you.

Hyperhydroses, or spelled something similar to that. Its pretty damn common, I sweat a lot as well. Sometimes I'm only sitting in my car driving and i can feel it slowly expire.
It is a weird thing, but ever since I quit caffeine, I haven't noticed it. I just realized that.

I've heard about this being the cause of it, but I never really bothered to look into it. Thanks.

It seems that you perspire a lot, you should wear some anti-perspirant.

U said ur not very active though...geez everyone's got a name for it...like it's some kind of disease or disorder. U need to do some running or something else that will get ur blood pumping on a regular basis. Build up a tolerance for the heat and ur body will sweat less. As simple as that ^^

I once went to a doctor and said that I sweat to much but he made it seem like it was good to sweat and that it releases toxins so I didn't worry about it anymore.

The botox thing is also not very effective if you excercize a lot. It merely clogs the arteries, and if you would do a lot of sports, it actually loses its effect pretty quick.

I have a similar problem but I mostly have it in situations where I experience stress, judgement by others, or an activity that requires a lot of focus.

The best way to fight it is to simply dress appropriately, Don't wear clothes that fit too tight, and always wear multiple layers. It is supposed to decrease with age, but it is a pretty annoying problem indeed

I heard of a trick that celebrities use. They stick panty liners to the armpits of blouses / jumpers etc to absorb sweat and stop it showing.

To stop it for a longer period you could have botox under your arms. However, it is painful and may only last for 5-6 months!

You probably have a case of Hyperhidrosis. Me too.

There's a few people that recommend either home remedies (which I do as well) and some more extreme who recommend surgery. But if you do choose surgery beware of compensatory sweating.

Try more powerful deoderants like Certain Dri.
