Is it normal that i (straight male) don't say a lot of things during sex?

I was talking to some female friends and their answers were different about the guys they use to date and what they say before and during sex. According to them, in general, guys don't really know what to say that turn them on, what makes it kinda awkward. How can i improove my dirty talk, since i've came to notice i'm a bit quite while fucking, which i also think is weird? What to say in order to turn girls on?
