I find it perfectly understandable, but I have an eating disorder. For me, hunger seems to sharpen some senses while muting certain feelings, which is very appealing when I'm lonely. There are other reasons too, though. Sometimes the idea of eating is almost alien to me, and food doesn't feel like food. I'll be holding a sandwich or something, and I can't imagine eating it. It's just an object; I might as well be holding a bit of cardboard or plastic. The idea of eating it is unappealing, almost ludicrous.

same, when i was single for a while, i lost 30 pounds. then i dated again and gained 10, thenn lost that 10 again. now i am dating, and i gained 6.
I find that my eating habits change dramatically depending on my state in a relationship.
When I'm single I eat the least, while when i feel comfortable in a relationship, I eat too much.
Personally, for me, it's based on insecurities and a strange appetite.
First off I just want to say not eating is not good for your health (obviously). I am not saying you have anorexia, but maybe you should talk to someone about this problem. Basically anyone you feel comfortable with, a friend, teacher, therapist, etc.
I used to suffer from anorexia. I wouldn't eat for days, I know my scenario is different. Why people don't eat depends entirely on the person. For example, you might not eat when your stressed or feel depressed (when you do not have a boyfriend). For other people, stress triggers an endless appetite (binging). It is not healthy.
