Is it normal that i still love my ex girlfriend after 8yrs

So my ex was my first serious gf we were 16 when we met and broke up at 19 over petty kid stuff. After that I started dating a girl who eventually became my wife years later. Its been 8 yrs since ive been with my ex. Now throughout that time period we have secretly kept in touch and we still care about each other very much. She is engaged and keeps it from her fiance. Sometimes we go months without speaking but eventually one of us reaches out to the other. We have not had sex and kissed only once which was extremely passionate. Obviously we are both in the wrong and both feel guilty but we just can't stop it just gets worse.
