Is it normal that i slept for 14 hours the day after sleeping 8 hours?

I smoked weed yesterday, for the first time, right before school. I smoked 1/3 of a joint, shared with two friends who's experienced smokers. Before going to school I slept for 8 hours. The weed made me reeeeally tired and I couldnt do anything, I was so lazy. When school was over at 2pm I went home and relaxed and watched tv till 4pm, and then I fell asleep in the living room, and slept until 6am, two hours ago. So I slept for 14 hours. Is it normal?

Its normal for young adults or teens to sleep for that long even without weed.
Weed (marijuana) is a depressant. It is smoked so people veg out and do nothing (happily). Once I finally realized this I ended up stopping and then started living life again ;)

Hold up, weed isn't just a depressant. It's a stimulant, depressant, psychedelic ect... Maybe it made you lazy in your experience but it doesn't do that to everyone. It also depends on what type you smoke as some strains can make you tired and relaxed while others can make you energetic and happy. Plenty of people are very productive happy smokers and plenty aren't. Don't make negative generalized statements without knowing your facts.

100% of everyone I've ever known smoke 'weed' and end up sitting in the lounge chair for the next few hours.
The only people that tend to get up and do stuff are the people who smoke weed just about every single day - not exactly the party drug that is was originally thought about ;)

As for 'strains', I can only assume you mean laced with speed :D Good point, who knows what type of reaction you'll get from some of these home grown (ie in a cupboard) hydroponic, shit farms :D

Wow. No I don't mean laced weed I mean different varieties of marijuana that have different levels of THC and CBDs. Clearly your knowledge of cannabis is lacking and I respect your choice to not use it but don't spread false information because of ridiculous assumptions on your part.

Admittedly there is a stoner stereotype for a reason as some of them are losers, but that is the fault of the smoker not the plant. Not trying to attack you personally just letting you know you're wrong in this case, peace.

ok I had to look up and quickly learn about 'if' the THC levels can change or if there are varieties etc.
I found that the THC level has increased over the last couple of decades and therefore I assume there must be varieties that that still exist at a lower THC.

But you are talking about the clinical biological and basically chemistry of the drug.
My words were about the psychological and culture and from what I've seen (not a few, but a few thousand times over decades between say a few hundred people - I was once a party animal for about 15 years, those days are gone).

We are talking two different things.
Sleeping for over 14 hours can (and possibly should) be discussed by professional medical professionals. But as a suggestion or 'friendly' response, mainly from people's personal experience and intelligence; I can answer as a 'generalized' (not surveyed or tested) response.

We can't all say at the start, 'in my opinion', because that is already assumed here.

Fair enough, I'm not saying you shouldn't have an opinion. I just don't like people perpetuating the stoner stereotype as it makes it much harder on the people who use it responsibly or for legitimate medical reasons. (They do exist)

Not trying to say it's a good thing even because it's just a plant and it's not for everyone, just trying to get the facts straight.
