Is it normal that i sleep constantly?

I realize that it's normal to like a bit of extra rest on the weekends, but I'm constantly sleeping, and my doctors refuse to believe I have a sleeping disorder, they just call me lazy and yell at me. I can sleep for 16 hours, wake up and eat, and still be tired. I never want to wake up, even if I'm going to hang out with my friends that day or do something fun. I'm constantly napping. It's very annoying. I can't get anything done. Is this normal?

I highly doubt doctors call you "lazy and yell" at you. Are you a teenager? Why would you exaggerate like that?

It sounds like a bad case of over-sleeping to me. You just have to force yourself to have better sleep habits. When you wake up, go for a walk to wake up your body, then you won't feel so sleepy during the day. Drink coffee in the morning. Plan fun things to do during the morning hours so that you are committed to getting your butt out of bed.

Hmm. Try to stay active after one of your naps. Go outside for a walk or play your favorite sport. It'll help waking you up a bit, after a while you won't be so sleepy anymore.

Is it depression? Depressed people who aren't excited about life tend to sleep a lot, speaking from personal experience. It's not half as bad now though.

I think, the best it is, to lick with your tongue all 5 hours directly in the electr. wall socket or a short cable and plug it direct in your sleeping ass, and you will see, your waked up in a few seconds and be very happy.

Your hormone and/or vitamin levels can be
Way out of whack. I know it sounds crazy,
But you should go see a hollistic doctor.
I had the same problem for pretty much my
Entire life. I slept allllll the time, had really
Bad short term memory... Among many
Other things.. Everyone is different so it's
Definitely worth looking into. They can do blood work
    That literally tests for EVERYTHING!
Then depending on exactly what your
    Imbalances/deficiencies are, they will put
You on a personalized plan. Sometimes it
Includes different levels of vitamins, different
Foods you shouldn't eat or are currently not
Eating but should be. It's not crazy prescription
Diet pills or adderol or any "quick fix pharmaceutical"
Hence the "hollistic" part. Google the hell
    Out of it first...
    Anyway, it's worth a
Shot. Coffee and exercise doesn't fix this
Kind of problem for everyone. It didnt for
Me and I only wish someone would have told
Me about this ten years earlier because
I honestly believed I would just have to
Live like that forever. Sleeping every chance
I got, walking around in a haze... Good luck..
Coming from someone who has been there ;)

Sounds like you're depressed or your meds are making you tired. I used to live on caffeine drinks.

I hate coffee, it tastes so gross to me, and I hate tea too. Also my therapist really did yell at me and call me lazy.

Coffee maybe? I don't really know. That is definitely an abnormal amount of sleeping time though...
