Is it normal that i should have such a hard time making friends?

I used to be friends with these seemingly nice young lads. They and I together had gotten into trouble for hacking the computers at school. They became very erratic so I stopped hanging out with them. Can people give me some guidence to making new friends and if some of the ladies could please offer me some tip about my personality that will help me get a really good relationship?

    I have never been the coolest guy in the world, pretty much just a normal dude that some people like, others don't care for. But I have always been able to form really tight knit friendships with really cool people, and it's primarily a result of a few things. I'm very honest, genuine, not afraid to convey vulnerability, loyal, and a good listener. It's a difficult line to toe because you don't want to come across desperate or too willing to help somebody out, because they might take advantage of you. But if you can learn to naturally inject these things into your personal interactions, you will naturally meet people that you click with.

    I like positive, happy people. Try to find something in common with someone new. If you don't want to make conversation out front I find talking to them alittle at a time works. I'm shy so that really helps me when I make new friends. Well that's all I can think of. Good luck :D
