Is it normal that i shake/shiver and get out of breath kissing?

Just got a new girlfriend, really like her and get along really well with her. But when we start kissing I quickly seem to be getting out of breath to the point where we have to stop so I can recover. I also start to shiver. The shivering is a problem I've had with other girls in the past. Has anyone else had this and do they know how I can fix it? Is it normal?

      Just take a deep breath and relax. Maybe kiss with the lights off or something?
