Is it normal: that i see someone else when i look in the mirror?

Okay, so my boyfriend confided in me that when he looks into a certain mirror in his house, he feels like he becomes someone else. He told me that his vision becomes blurry and his eyes become darker and he feels angry and serious. He also told me that it scared him because he didn't know what he would do if he stared too long.

It freaked him out, yet he wants to look into the mirror more often. I thought about it, telling him to get rid of the mirror or just try to resist the urges. He told me that he tried, but he can't. [I know what this feels like because I have urges of my own in self-harm, so I can relate.]

He also seems to like to talk about it. I find this odd since he doesn't want to tell anyone else, yet brings it up all the time.

A few more things he told me that he feels like he's changing and that he's been waking in the night. This has only been happening for a few days, but still...

He told me this because he doesn't believe that anyone else will think he's okay; they'll think he's possessed or crazy. I'm worried for him. I just want to help, but I don't think I can if I'm not around when it happens. All of my suggestions don't seem to affect him. I'm so scared; not of him, but for him.

We are both teenagers, if that matters.

Dissociative Personality Disorder. You lose grips on your personal traits. Tell him to stop believing in possessions. That kind of thing is for those weak in the mind, hit him with a book and then read it to him.

That's the best answer I've gotten. Thank you so much! I'll try my best to keep it from getting bad. I might even try that book bit...

? Really? This sounds like a Twilight Zone episode to me. He is lying for attention. He is not "different" or "magical" or "possessed". I bet you are high school children. Get a grip on reality.

He could be lying, I know. Yet, I don't think he would do that to me. He seemed very serious when he told me, but I won't rule it out. I mean, he started breaking out into a cold sweat like he was scared just thinking about it.
Then, also, it could just be his imagination. Try to not be so harsh about it, please.

i guess he's possessed. You have to break the mirror. But you need to cover it with something than do it.

Yeah... I do really want to get rid of the mirror, but he always has his reasons to not get rid of it.

  • so I have a story. My brother and his girlfriend were walking around campus after a party and on that night like two years ago there had been a suicide and they just felt like evil around them and they couldn't even explain it.

And so they were passing a chapel and they heard screaming and curses and so they went inside and there was someone they knew and she was drunk as fuck and she kept changing voices and personalities and and they looked in her eyes and it wasn't her.

She was possessed with like five different demons! And so my brother and his girlfriend were trying to perform an exorcism and when they touched her they felt the demons actually trying to attack them.

But they talked to the demons and kept asking for their names and idk all of them but one of them said he was loneliness. And he said it through the girl but it sounded like a guy. And so they cast out the demons but it took like an hour and they were constantly praying and calling us to pray

But there might still be 1 demon left in her cuz a guard came in and kicked them out cuz they didn't believe the story he just thought she was drunk. But he says there is still evil around campus and for us to be praying for him.

What about bipolar disorder? Check into that, my sister has that andshe has very strange and frustrating behaviour, she'll suddenly shout out "yes" or "what" and when I called her on it she said kids are calling her. Look into it.

Unless he just looks in the mirror thinking he will see what HE thinks he looks like but it is a totally a different person. But I would get an adult to check it out. Does he live in a mansion, cause I have heard stories about that kind of stuff in mansions you are going to need to answer that for me

No, he knows it's him. Also, he doesn't live in a mansion.

Hmmm... I've told him so many ways to make breaking the mirror look like an accident. I think one day I'm gonna do it myself.

Me might be developing schizophrenia. Ask him if he hears voices too.

I really doubt it. I've already looked into that and he doesn't match up with the symptoms.
      But thanks.

Have you told him that your worried about his well being and that you think his thoughts and actions have a potential to harm himself?

I have told him that I'm worried, but he just seems to blow it off as nothing when I express my concern.
