Is it normal that i see myself as a different gender?

I am a female, but sometimes, in my head, I 'see' myself as someone who is neither man or woman. I am not nor do I aspire to be transgendered.

So do I, but I don't know if it's normal or not. Good question.

You might have a genderqueer identity. Google that and see if any of it resonates with you.

I also wonder if it's normal for women to feel apathetic about their gender. The definition of what it is to be a woman has changed so much in the last hundred years or so, our heads are still kind of spinning. There was a time when femininity was defined by a narrow set of things that are no longer relevant to the modern woman. Ideas of equality sometimes meant appropriating male gender roles, but some women didn't want to become men just to be strong and independent, bu the problem was, we had no other model--we had the "weak" female model we were trying to liberate ourselves from, and the "strong" male model which wasn't female. It's obviously very possible to be both strong and a woman, but most strong women have had to go off the map a bit in defining their own gender roles for themselves, because the historical models were of so little help.

It is natural to feel that gender roles are confining and restrictive. I suppose the biggest question here is if you simply feel limited or confused by the female identity (which is normal, because right now, there *isn't* a universal female identity) or if you feel dysphoria, that is, a sense of "wrongness" when you think of yourself as female. If you have dysphoria, that's a clue you may be trans or genderqueer.

I'm still trying to figure a lot of this out myself. Figuring out where you stand might take a lot of time. Read up on gender politics and queer identities, and maybe you will find something that helps you.

I am transgender, but many people I know don't see themselves completely as one gender. Be whoever you want to be, you're the boss of yourself

I'm pretty girly but when I'm on my own or whatever and I'm saying things in my head , I kinda feel like a boy. It's really weird.

It is normal. I think a lot of people wonder about being a different gender, it doesn't always mean they are transgender. It's not like you have to go out and buy a penis. However, if you do realize you are trans(not saying you are or will be) don't be ashamed.
Don't worry about it, you are probably just a tomboy or have manly moments. :)

I swear i have part of a teenage boy's mind in my brain somewhere! These immature thoughts pop into my head all the time! XD I would say it's normal, I do it all the time. You're probably just a bit of a tomboy like me :)
