Is it normal that i see a strange transparent strand that hovers

Is it normal that I see a weird transparent strand wherever I look? It seems to be a weird clear string in my eyes that when I look up, the tiny speck that interferes with my vision drifts up. I see it only once in a while, not always. I wear contacts, but I've been seeing this since before I was little. Is this normal?

Oh squiggly line in my Eye Fluid
I see you there lurking on the periphery of my vision.
But when I try to look at you, you scurry away.
    Are you shy, squiggly line?
Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye?
    Oh, squiggly line,
    it's alright, you are forgiven.

  • It's completely normal, they're called floaters. I think everybody sees them sometimes.
