I often scratch my mother's back. I have been doing this since childhood. I don't like doing this because I feel no one else does this, but it's overly normal to me.
I feel like the level of intimacy during back scratching is higher than the normal intimacy limit for a child and parent.
Buy her one of those wooden back-scratchers from a dollar store and tell her she'll need it because you're retiring from the back-scratching business.
