Is it normal that i say i hate my boyfriend

Is it normal that its easier for me to tell myself I hate my long distance boyfriend (we're both 17 years old) than accept the fact I love him and miss him?? I get so sad when I think about how much I miss him and I'm so in love in with him it sucks being away from him, so instead of accepting this, its easier for me to tell myself I hate him and try convince myself of this when really he does close to nothing to make me hate him. Is it normal? How do I stop?

You don't hate him. You hate the distance. Convincing yourself that you hate him to make you miss him less is not going to work and you're only going to end up hurting yourself so it's best that you remind yourself that it's not him you hate, but the distance.

And find other things to do. Get your mind off of him and live your life.

Instead of trying to avoid the issue, address it. Remind him of how much you love him, and remind yourself..telling yourself you hate him isn't helping cause its clear that you don't, and you may feel like convincing yourself you hate him fills in the empty void in your heart but it only contributes to it. Dont ever stop reminding yourself of how much you love him and stay hopeful that one day you'll see him again. Also think about him, do you think it's fair for him to have you say you hate him for no reason?

  • Keep a journal. When you feel yourself getting upset because you miss him, write to him in your journal as if you are speaking directly to him.

Enjoy the fact that somewhere out there, someone loves you.
