Some people don't like that sort of stuff, and you're one of them. It's normal. I'm unsure what all the fuss is about from everyone else.
I don't think simply totally ruling out all films with an 18 certificate is the best way to avoid films with content you don't like though, because you might still be missing out on films without that content which you'd enjoy but are labelled 18.
I don't see why some people seem to think being 18 implies that you HAVE to like sex and violence in your movies. I really find it quite strange that some of the people here are close-minded enough to think that all people of a certain age MUST ALL like the same things, and that if you don't it gives them a right to make outlandish judgements about your upbringing. It doesn't make sense.
I don't know what cause they seem to have to suggest you are actually 15 either. They're the ones being immature.
You ARE normal.
You shou;d ease into the 18+ field with a nice, soft film like A Serbian Film.
You're going to miss out on allot of good films. Kids films today today are pathetic compared to what used to be made. Everything is politically correct and admittedly some R films are pathetic too. This is why it's good to see the classics. What kinds of films do you like? I'm sure you could find a good film rated R. Just give it a chance.
I'm the opposite, I try and steer away from movies rated under R. When I was younger I didn't care as much I suppose. But I still liked to watch R-Rated movies.
Well considering that the bar changes over time that makes no sense. I have seen some rated R movies and gone "now why was that rated R"
Ratings are so off the wall insane, a PG-13 movie will often try to pack as much "naughty" stuff as they can and still get that rating. Many R rated movies will be that because of dark themes or even a handful of "f" words...
You are missing out on many great movies.
I don't understand. I posted this as a I'm-bored sort of thing, just to see what percentage of people also think like this. And now you're all saying how strange I am, I'm starting to worry that there's seriously something wrong with me. Which is really stupid, because if you think about it, there's nothing weird about what I said. I don't want to watch excessively gory/violent movies because I'm squeamish. I don't want to watch movies with graphic sex scenes in because I find that really embarrassing to watch. And horny girls disgust me. I'm not a lesbian, so there's no reason why I should find that attractive. I can't imagine a movie being an 18 solely based on swearing, but if it was it would probably just annoy me. Swearing every other word is aggressive and completely unnecessary.
I'm a girl, does that make this any more normal?
I've creeped myself out now, I feel like an alien :(
If no one replies to this I'll have to post another question with it in.
Horny girls disgust you :/ that's weird. I'm a heterosexual man and horny guys aren't disgusting to me, they're just not interesting. There is an option between attraction and disgust, it's called indifference.
You seem very sensitive to... everything. Hey, if your preference is for gentle, non-violent, non-graphic, suitable-for-family-viewing films, that's fine. BUT it is unusual in that most people aged 18 are mature enough to enjoy movies with adult themes and adult imagery. If a movie is to reflect an adult world, it makes sense for it to reflect adult aspects of that world, including violence, sex and strong language. These are natural and prominent parts of our world, even if you hide from them or don't wish to see them on the screen. Most people over a certain age understand and appreciate that. You're different, but each to their own, it's not normal but it's fine, obviously :)
That sounds like a very ugly world to me. Maybe I just live with my head up in the clouds, expecting the world to be perfect when it's not. Maybe I just never grew up. Who knows. Maybe I'm just fucked in the head.
Theres no such thing as perfection, seems to me like you trying to censor the things you wish weren't there. Your not fucked in the head. What's with you and sugesting this? (You do it alot. Assuming something when no one was really implying such is a bad habit.) Your normal so lets end these shenanigans!
You might just be on the wrong website. Perhaps you should join Farmville.
It's normal to have likes and dislikes. Not everyone likes and dislikes the same things. If you're just eighteen, there is a whole lot of exploration you may embark on if you wish to. Everyone contanly changes from day to day. No one is forcing you to watch or listen to anything you don't enjoy, eccept for the media but that's just shear advertisment. Enjoy your life as Best as You can!
Maybe you're just going through a phase like I did when I was 18 but I didn't quite sensor adult rated stuff, just missed the hell out of my misspent childhood.
If you feel like that I would suggest to you to not have children because they're a very frustrating challenge but the only time they are joys is when they're playing by your rules and you have rules to obey in how to rear them.
You can use the rest of your life as an extended childhood and sensor out anything you don't want to see or hear.
I won't be having chidren, I would only have them If I was assured they wouldn't have problems.
I don't really see what having children has got to do with me not wanting to watch disturbing movies, but I wasn't planning to have any, no. I don't like children. And yes I do miss my childhood, but as far as I understand, EVERY teenager does.
Thank you though.
Why's that?
If Twilight were rated 18 it might be better. Didn't we all want to see Edward tear the baby out of Bella?? ;)
Arietty was a good movie if you like animation. :)
I didn't see it but no I wouldn't want to watch someone tear a baby out of someone else...
I don't like blood, gore or violence, and anything sexual that you couldn't show to a 15 year old I really don't want to know about.
There are many 15 y/o's that eat all of that up. When I was younger it was Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Chuckie the Maniacal Doll. Those were the horror flicks I loved watching as a kid. Carrie and the Exorcist were ones I had trouble with I grew to like them too.
Some movies are good and they were made for adults, not anyone younger than that.
