Is it normal that i react strongly to familiar-looking girls in porn?

I don't watch porn too often - actually I realize the threats of doing so and keep it to a minimum. Sometimes, though, I manage to accidentally see a new face that gets me instantly hooked (this happened recently on Rocco's facebook fanpage, for example). Girls that remind me of girls I know - especially ones I have never won over/never liked me in that way - for some reason stir up a very strong response in me, one of great fascination with a sting of jealousy, in addition to the customary lust - it's pretty difficult to describe. Do you think it's normal to feel such extreme emotions related to girls reminding you of ones you know? Is it some kind of forbidden fruit thing or something?

    Yep yep yep. Something you desired but could never have until now suddenly shows up? Of course you are going to react strongly. Rejection isn't a turn on for me personally, but I know some of my strongest crushes were for girls/women way out of my league, or so I thought.

      I'm not some kind of religious freak, I mean valid, real arguments! Overall it's not bad in small doses, but binging on porn or simply overexposure can overload your brain's pleasure circuits. In other words, you won't get a hard-on for real women, you won't get even slightly excited about the thought of being with a real woman. This can lead to some situations you'd wish never happened. That's why I try to avoid porn as much as I can.

        I've never understood this. I probably watch porn/masturbate more than anyone I know and I also have more sex than anyone I know, I do some times watch some quite extreme shit as well and it has never had an effect on my sex life. Physiologically I would say this only happens in very extreme cases and for the majority, people who use this excuse are dickless faggots.

          It's rather insensitive of you to say so. Well, I'd say it only happens if you've been watching lots of porn for years. Most teenage boys have been doing it since the age of 16 or even earlier thanks to the large bandwidth Internet, and become totally limp dicked by the age of 20. As I said though, depends how much you watch it, whether you do it for hours on end or just a couple of minutes a day two or three times a week. I can personally say that if I watch porn for a week, I can't get a boner at anything, but after a break of a month or so, I get a boner before the video even starts.

        Doesn't really make sense to me, I've been watching porn almost daily for like 8 years and still easily get hard if I just think of a girl in a bikini. Most of the time I beat off about twice a day on average and I have never experienced any of the side effects that you mention. Unless you're addicted to porn it won't hurt you and you can't get addicted unless you're naturally prone to it, it's like video games, of course SOME people get addicted, but there isn't any physical stimulant or anything that gets you hooked.
