Is it normal that i rarely get more than 3 hours of sleep

I usually fall asleep around 5:00/7:30 A.M. Then wake up around 2-3 hours later 8:30/9:00 A.M. and no naps in between. I don't think this is normal but I'm not a doctor. This has been going on about 4 months now and I don't see any difference minus the dark circles but as far as being irritable or other things that supposedly accompany sleep depravation okay I have lost some weight but I began I weight loss program so that's not a direct result of the loss of sleep. This can't be right, what should I do I only drink water so it's not caffeine I work out midday so no on that as well I take the hot bath and don't use the computer right before bed books are no help I'll devour a Stephen King novel in just under two weeks only reading in the tub. I think I'm doing everything I'm supposed to but still sleep evades me.

It isn't normal. You should exercise during the day - it might help you sleep at night.

You need to get at least 6.5-7 or you are going to prematurely age yourself.

I am exactly like that & just recently had a sleep study done & was diagnosed with Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. Look it up and I'm sure you'll relate. I was relieved to finally get answers!
