Aluminum-based compounds are used as the active ingredient in antiperspirants. These compounds form a temporary plug within the sweat duct that stops the flow of sweat to the skin's surface. Some research suggests that aluminum-based compounds, which are applied frequently and left on the skin near the breast, may be absorbed by the skin and cause estrogen-like (hormonal) effects. Because estrogen has the ability to promote the growth of breast cancer cells, some scientists have suggested that the aluminum-based compounds in antiperspirants may contribute to the development of breast cancer.

i copied that from the cancer dot gov website. sorry but i would rather read about research that was done, rather that what some news person said on the television. because we all know how accurate the news is....

whoever recommended it is an idiot. deodorant blocks your pores and stops your body from naturally expelling toxins so having deodorant on 24 hours a day just holds in all the bad toxins. deodorant also gives people breast cancer so would you rather smell pretty while you sleep or have a higher chance of getting breast cancer? give your body a break while you sleep, that is the whole point of sleep, to recharge and rejuvenate. if you want to smell pretty before bedtime then just have a quick shower and wash yourself.

Oh and the study you quoted was a study done in the year 2007. The following year it was retracted and that was when the claim was made the it could not be proven...nor entirely disproven. Gotta keep up on those studies...they change like the weather.

They reported that they could no longer prove or disprove this cancer theory. For me...I personally believe it all gives us cancer whether they say it does or doesn't.
As for the night application is is supposedly better because you are clean and you are not sweating...being better able to absorb the aluminum. This "better" absorption prevents sweating by blocking the pores more efficiently.

They actually released a news story the other day naming the "deodorant causes cancer" rumor to be false. Fuckers got me again.

I heard it's actually good to do. Putting it on before bed helps your armpits to retain it or something.
