Those above are right, it's called Trichotillomania and it's completely treatable. It's an impulse control disorder and it's not always caused by childhood trauma. A psychiatrist will do a much better job treating it than an general doc though.
ive pulled out my hair for years...think the earliest i remember doin it was when i was 16 n im 21 now.. its pretty easy to hide with liquid eyeliner so u dont see the missing gaps and eyebrow pencil to fill in gaps in your eyebrows...i used to try resist but never cud go a whole day, the only way i wont touch my eyelashes is when i glue on fake ones
i do this too! as well as my eyebrows... though i recommend that you stop if you don't wanna look weird (: once, i pulled half my eyebrow off and had to walk with my head down in school for quite some time ):
One of my friends does this and it's because of a traumatic childhood. The same friend pulls her hair out also.
I do it all the time because I like the weird feeling people call me weird but I don't care
theres actually a name for this condition, i cant remember right now. its similar to ocd though.
i used to pull out pieces of my hair a few years ago, but it had to stop because i didnt want to go bald or anything. (thankfully, it never got anywhere near that bad)
go get help for this, theres nothing else you can do. do you really want to lose all of your eyelashes? :/
It isn't normal but i've done it ever since i was eight. It isn't a problem.
It is interesting though that later on in my life I developed OCD. You'll be happy to know that my OCD went a long time ago.
This connection doesn't necessarily mean, "OMG! I'M GOING TO HAVE OCD!" though.
It isn't normal but it's also something I have done for years, I used to do it so bad I would pull nearly all my eyelashes out.
Actually though many people do it, it is not normal. It is called trichotillomania and is a type of anxiety disorder, some say related to OCD. Another example of this kind of disorder is excessive picking of the skin, or biting nails and cuticles until they bleed. Look it up on the net. Google trichotillomania....
