Is it normal that i pretend to be whoever i'm listening to(music)?

Okay...I'm 21, and almost every day, moat times it's when I'm laying in bed or driving by myself, I will blast music, and not act out, but imagine me singing on stage as whoever I'm listening to. I LOVE to sing and I sing well, but I do get a thrill out of imagining I'm on stage singing and I imagine looking out into the crowd seeing people I know in such shock that I can sing so well. Hahahahahaha. I feel like an idiot. But I always do it as I listen to music (female artists that I love--Kelly Clarkson, Kim Walker) Is it seriously normal? Do any of you do it?

I am a male and I do this all the time. I think to a certain extent it is healthy for the brain, yet I have noticed a lot lately it has been affecting me negatively due to the fact that I am actually starting to believe it. It can be dangerous when one does this because subconsciously your brain tricks itself into false thoughts of success and goal achievement, getting in the way of actual motivation in life. In my case, I am extremely unmotivated because my subconscious thinks that I do not have anything to worry about, for my 'success' will keep me aloof. Yet, when I realized this and decided to change my perception on music, I began to find my identity and motivation to actually improve my own life, and have been for the past three weeks. For anyone who feels that they have a false vision and feeling of self, this may be the reason. Being imaginative when it comes to music is a wonderful thing, yet it could skew ones perception of who they are, effecting their life. Things can change with a change in perspective, sometimes for the betterment of ones self.

It totally normal. I pretend to be the people in movies after I watch them. Music/Movies change your personality making you feel like you're in the song/movie. When I go see a action movie in the theater, I feel like I could start doing flips with shooting people upside down and fighting like a 100 armed bandit. Its just channeling feelings in your brain that makes you feel as if you are the main character or similar to the main character, based on the surrounding characteristics. Sometimes when I listen to Nicki Minaj, I make her faces as I'm singing along with her. Lol so again, It's normal, at least to me I think it is(:

I wanna know who clicked "No. You're not normal." or whatever it says, cause they're clearly not normal if they don't do it. I think everyone has done it, whether it be when they were a kid or an adult....

Haha:D I used to do this a lot as a kid. I still find myself doing it from time to time. I say it's normal, but I always wonder, who do the musicians imagine themselves being?

Yes, totally normal. When I watch dance videos or music videos with dance scenes I pretend I know how to dance like them.

Tons of people do this. Music just has a way of fueling your imagination; whether it be to pretend that your in a music video or on stage singing to fans. You're normal.
