Is it normal that i prefer video game music to actual music

Now I obviously like music as well except for the stuff that comes out today. Aside from that there's a special charm to video game music that isn't expressed through lyrics. It's the beat, instruments and the rhythm that express the emotion.

I do listen to regular music a lot more than video game music but whenever I listen to it I feel more from it than I do from regular artists.

PS. I was too lazy to proofread so if there's any errors that's a shame.

    Yeah , I think music should have a sort of atmosphere to it. I love tons of different music, but would have to say that the best music should envoke an emotion and create some sort of atmosphere.Not necissarily with words. You should look up Claude Debussy and the people he influenced.

    So do I. FFX Has the absolute best music that I have ever heard in my life. Anybody who says that this isn't normal and is a gamer has never beaten any rpg game. And probably only plays shooters or casual games.

    We listen music to get relaxed. Your mind is fed up with ordinary music, so it like specials..

    Not only that its normal, its GOOD..

    Of course, it's normal! I wish I could get all of the soundtracks to my favourite games.
    - Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean (full album. I only have the toys-r-us special cd but I never opened it.)
    -Super Mario Galaxy
    -Super Mario Subshine
    -Okami
    -Kingdom Hearts
    -The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, etc.

    Am an FFVII music fan ;D I did enjoy Tactics, FF12, FF13 and Crisis Core.
    I am a big fan of Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears)

    I think it is because the games need the music to make the game seem... more real? Without the music, the scenes would be dull. Unless there is a purpose to the silence that is.

    ^ Agreed, although my favorite FF was FFVIII I quite enjoyed the song when fighting Ultamacia at the very end :-)

    FFX was the best in my opinion. I can see all the people saying VII is better but it's not :/ Hasn't been a good ff since X.
