Is it normal that i prefer to dress nicely

Is it normal that I prefer dressing nicely over dressing "casually"(ex. jeans, t-shirt, hoodie)? Most people think I'm weird for doing it, and it's not like I do it for a job or anything, I do it because I can. I'm referring to dressing up to go to places like school, grocery shopping, a basketball game, or anything most people would dress casually for. To me dressing nicely (ex. dress shirt and pants) is rather casual, and to dress up I wear a suit, still at rather regular intervals, and to dress fancy I put on a tux. It may have something to do with an ego boost, or self-esteem but I'm not entirely sure. So is it normal to dress nicely when others generally dress "casually"? P.S. I'm a male.

Oh heck yes I was hoping someone else had an urge like this. Totally fine man, 'formal' is so much more attractive and professional looking than the casual wear.

I'm in banking, and every day I'm in suits (usually three-piece), heavily starched shirts (usually but not always white), and BOW ties, ONLY bow ties, the tie-it-yourself kind, naturally. Same goes for church on Sunday. Been this way this way since day one of high school. It was a Catholic high school and the guys HAD to wear ties. I just made mine BOW ties. Been my "signature look" ever since. I also looked for every opportunity, like joining the chess team and debate club, to be in suits as often as possible during high school. That was the main reason I loved assembly days. Regular school Masses were another "jacket required" day. Going to Mass on the weekend, same thing. A tux? Yeah, I'll wear mine whenever appropriate. Love those occasions.

If I were a single woman, I'd be somewhat intimidated and feel like I'd have to dress up around you and look perfect all the time. I could never deal with that.

I am grateful there is a man like you in the world. Half the time I can't stand the "casual, I don't care" look. If it works for you, continue with it.

I think dressing casually means dressing the way you like. To a lazy dood like me, that means jeans and t-shirt, to a fancy fellow like you it means tux, and to a nudist it means nothing at all.
