I luv old blues & stuff & most people look at me gone out when I talk about it so I don't bother. I subscribe to a rock magazine. I do like music from my teens too but I tend to tire of it pretty quickly. IIN??
Of course it is normal.
I am afraid that when this generation grows up, they will think LMFAO, Kesha, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and more untalented, processed, aggressively-marketed singers as music.

Music back in the 80s and 90s was the best, even rap music was good. However, that quality of music has declined over the years but not all of it. The majority of music nowadays aims to please parties which,in my opinion, says that they don't care that much about what they produce. Frankly, I wish that bands like Nirvana and Queen would spring up and give the kids nowadays what they were missing out on in the 90s, quality music.
I listen to all types of music (except country) and comparing new and old music is hard. New music is catchy and I do like to sing it but I don't listen to it, old music is of much higher quality but has harder lyrics to sing so I listen to it.
I think that most of the modern over-hyped music we have to suffer through now will probably be forgotten twenty years from now.
Now, when we think of the 80's, its all about Heavy Metal and punk rock, but in the 80's it was more about new wave garbage.
Hell, Souja boy and big and rich were popular in 2007, and there already forgotten!
its seems there are a lot more like me! I'm into Rock music from the late 60's to the 90's. I do like some modern music, like some Alternative rock, but other than that, modern music is dumb. I also like classic country.

I personally love blues, jazz, progressive rock.
there are some modern songs i like but... i do not blind myself to think that the latest corporate-created hit is the best thing ever.
i fully believe in listening to what *I* like, regardless of whether or not someone else cares.
Everyone has a prefrance, completly normal. I would sugguest, however, looking at some more 'underground' music from this generation. It may or may not grow on you. Stay open minded!
