Is it normal that i prefer clean/edited versions of music?
For whatever reason, I've always downloaded the clean radio edit of songs. Cursing doesn't even bother me in conversations, I even do it myself sometimes. But I hate hearing it in music.

I like dirty music. When a song is censored it kind of takes a little bit of spirit out of the song.
I'm kind of the opposite. I really don't like censored versions of songs. Lily Allen's songs sound daft with bleeps or obvious replacement words. Also, a couple of days ago I shared a piece of music with someone ("Daydream in Blue" by I, Monster) and when I searched "I, Monster" to get a link, the top one censored and I had to go to the second page of results to get something which seemed normal. There are no swear words in it (the word "naked" is in there and the video has a plastic doll who winks a bit and swings from a chandelier but it seems odd that this should be censored and some really misogynistic music is seen as acceptable.
Each to their own, though. I have to admit, I don't like listening to music with a lot of swear words around, say, my parents or older people.
I actually prefer the unedited versions of songs. Except maybe the Bloodhound Gang's rendition of The Roof is on Fire. It's so funny to hear them making donkey sounds instead of saying the word. Other than that it just doesn't sound as good to me... I wanna hear the music as they made it, not with a bleep or a silly word tossed in.
It sucks whenever there are bad words in a song they get censored or so... well the music I hear know no censorship ;D
Me too. This R-Kelly song I used to listen to as a kid ("Ignition"), when they would play it on the radio, it was always cleaned, and it had metaphors in it that I didn't understand as a 10 year old. I decided that I was going to download it a few years ago, and I realized how dirty it was, and so much that I had to take it off.
No, it really pisses me off actually, especially in videogames. Editing out swearing is one thing, but when they start to censor words like "pills'' or "suicide'' (as in suicide doors) then it's getting out of hand.
It depends on which version that I listened to and got used to first.
I got used to the censored version of the song "Fuck you" by Cee-lo, and when I downloaded the uncensored version and listened to it I was like O.O;;; But when I listened to "You're Going to Go Far, Kid" on the radio, the "fucker" being bleeped out seemed to ruin the song for me.
It really depends for me. For some songs, the cursing is just a part of the song but for others it's like... do you need to...?
