Is it normal that i pay for everything in the relationship?

So I've been in this long distance relationship for about a year and a half now, my boyfriend lives in la. Everytime he comes to see me I have to give him money for gas and pay for the hotel cause I still live with my parents. He doesn't have a job and since he recently lost his financial aid he has no source of income. Since the beginning of our relationship, I was the one to pay for everything, from food to gas to any dating event. I have even paid for his recent speeding ticket. On top of that, I always buy him clothes and shoes and crap for his car cause he asks me too. I like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll get a job soon and help support our relationship but I need second opinions. Please tell me if this is normal!

    Are you insane? He must think you are desperate for him and so he can treat you whatever way he likes. Please be sensible. He will never change now that you have set the pattern for your relationship - why should he? This arrangement benefits him. In fact, I wouldn't even be surprised if he was cheating on you, coz you're such a doormat.

    STOP at once and tell the scrounger that you can't afford to keep him any more. Look after yourself first!

    Time to cut him loose. If he really can help himself he will do what ever is necessary to support himself and show you he can do it. If he doesn't, you have lost nothing.

    It seems like he's abusing your kindness. If I were you, I'd stop all this. He's a big boy and can take care of himself AND spoil his girlfriend.

    You don't need to be buying all those things for him. He can survive on his own, and if ge just wants to starve and wear old clothes for not getting a job so be it. He needa to learn not to mooch off of people to live.
