Is it normal that i overdosed on cannabis?

I was smoking the devils lettuce last night and after about my 9th bowl I looked at myself in the mirror and my eyes were as red as a bright cherry from my cherry tree! Oh wow I thought to myself what have I done to myself! I started FUH-LIPPING OUT! I ran everywhere wow what a great time.

The first time I ever had a bucket I thought I had developed the ability to hear insects talking to each other everywhere, hands down the most stoned I have ever been.

Those moments are amazing when stoned. I remember thinking metal balls were hitting me but it was just the wind

yeah thats why i think cannabis isnt a drug. you can overdose on any other drug under the sun, even nicotine and caffiene but cannabis, you just green out and wanna take a little nap if you smoke too much.

I just wanted to clarify that I agree with you. I don't understand how two similar comments can be posted side by side and one gets two thumbs up and the other gets negative one. I thumbed you up, by the way.

        It's not a drug, it's an HERB.

Kind of like heroin isn't a drug, it's just a flower.

Yes, because you're supposed to inject the petals directly into your bloodstream. /sarcasm

Not the same thing folks. Go ahead, thumb me down. No one cares.

Yes, because you're supposed to dry the buds, chop it, burn it, and inhale the smoke directly into your lungs. Exactly the same thing.

So smoking so much you vomit? Doesn't that mean you smoked too much?

No, not really. You can eat so many, I dunno, lets just say bananas that you can puke. Same concept. Doesn't matter what it is. Too much of ANYTHING can be bad, no matter how good it can be.

Too much wine, for instance. Too much and you're a reeling, vomiting drunk... but just one glass a day is being said to keep the doctor away.

Bullshit! I've been burning for 43 yrs and never freaked out. I have smoked some shit so good that it made driving a bit of a concern. But for me it's my drug of choice and I don't expect that to change. Congratulations Colorado and Washington. It's about time!

No. It's not possible to overdose on cannabis. It is possible to reach a heightened sense of sickness but thats because you send signals to your brain which start to confuse your basic functions. You can also develop phycosis from cannabis which includes increased anxiety and paranoia and delusions. You can enjoy smoking weed but in moderation and in the right environment.

Hahaha well as everyone else said you can't overdose, you can however get REALLY baked. I've never smoked 9 bowls at once.

This story amused the fuck out of me. Devil's lettuce. XD I'm totally gonna call it that from now on

That's not overdosing. I however had a point in my life where I was laughing uncontrollably at a can of peas in my cabinet when I went to get some munchies. :) you were probably just really high. 9th bowl by yourself of some good shit? Sounds like a good time. I've been sober for a while now, though!

A little thing called the truth.

    Cannabis doesn't cause hallucinations.

    Schizophrenia and psychosis do however.

Actually cannabis can cause hallucinations and it can be classified as a psychedelic drug. Most regular smokers of cannabis will probably have tripped at one point or another. Put that in your pipe and smoke it bitch.

cannabis doesnt cause hallucinations, the worst it can do is cause memory problems, paranoia, delusions and anxiety.
thats in the WORST case tho.

Maybe I am clueless but that isn't going to stop me from attaining my medical degree in a few years which will go nicely on the wall next to both my MSc and BSc in biomedical science with pharmacology and physiology, you on the other hand may be fully clued up on the effects and mechanism of action of cannabis but you also sound like a person who is never going to achieve anything of any real significance. Maybe I am a schizophrenic as well but that hasn't stopped me from acheiving a nearly perfect life and an absolutely gorgeous girlfriend, if I had the choice of being me or you regardless of any underlying mental illnesses, I'd pick me every time.

I'm unsure why you feel the need to tell a stranger on the internet how Intelligent you are and how good your life is? I mean no offence but that seems insecure to me.

Honestly mate I don't care, you have nothing to prove to me.

I don't believe your initial post, that's what this is all about.

Well, cannabis is a mild psychedellic but unless it triggers psychosis or anxiety (which it can in some people) you wouldn't get hallinations to the same degree as if you were using LSD or psilocybin. So you're mostly right, I tossed a thumb your way. :P

Mate, you're talking absolute shite. You're picking the wrong guy to bullshit, trust me.

It may be possible to see very slight visual distortions but full blown hallucinations are not a normal effect of weed, period.

If your seeing or hearing anything that isn't their when smoking you need your head looked at, seriously.

Are you a mental health proffesional? are you a pharmacist? A quick search of pubmed brings up loads of studies which look at the different effects cannabis has. This study actually was looking at brain monitoring during cannabis induced hallucinations - Human EEG spectra before and during cannabis hallucinations.PMID: 999986 I mean if you have evidence that cannabis is not psychodelic then I am all ears but if not then I am not interested. This forum has a lot of links to studies which look at the possible mechanism of how this works, quite an interesting read - http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php...

            Am I a professional? No.

However I do know a lot about psychology and I smoked for over a decade.

I used to work supporting schizophrenics and people with Bipolar.

Hearing thing's that are not their is ALWAYS a cause for concern, it's a MASSIVE red flag warning of mental Illness, regardless of if you are smoking or not.

I never disputed Cannabis as a Psychedelic, In fact it is classed a psychoactive drug. That does not mean it brings on experiences like the one you described.

The thread you linked to does not contradict what I said. It even backs up what I said "mild visual distortions". It says nothing about full blown hallucinations like you describe.

So yea, Im calling you out, Your a liar.

Either that, or your probably developing schizophrenia.

All drugs that alter your state of mind are psychoactives. This includes caffiene, cocaine, PCP, methamphetamine, and pretty much any other recreational drug ever.

Psychoactives fall into 4 categories. Stimulant, depressant, psychedellic and antipsychotic. Cannabis is a mild psychedellic but it also depends on whether or not you're talking about THC or cannabinoids, because there are slight differences between the two and I think one of them falls more under the psychedellic category than the other.

True hallucinations from weed are rare but they can happen, especially in cases where smoking triggers a panic attack. There has been a small link between the consumption of cannabis and early onset mental illness, but all that really means is that if you were already devleoping psychotic tendancies or schizophrenia, it might speed up the process. Even then there are schizophrenics who smoke to lessen their symptoms, so a lot of it comes down to individual body chemistry.

Yes it's not comparable to hallucinations caused by LSD or psilocybin or anything like that, but inexperienced users can definitely get kinda tripped out on weed. And honestly I've only had mild visual distortions with EVERY psychedellic I've ever done. I don't know if I need higher doses for full blown hallucinations but I'm fine not trying to get there myself.

It's not a lie if I believe what I have said due to there being published evidence and as far as suggesting me being a schizophrenic, well you're just making yourself sound like an idiot. Maybe the weed was laced with lsd, it wouldn't have been the first time I have had something similar. As far as hallucinations are concerned I learnt while studying neurology that most people will experience some at some point or another during their life, they just don't realise it.
