Is it normal that i only remember negative stuff?

I can remember negative memories very clearly, especially angry memories.

Positive or neutral memories are a bit more hazy.

    Trauma lasts.

It's also quite normal to remember events you had a specific emotional response to more clearly when you experience that emotion again (i.e. Remembering all the times you've been pissed off at a friend when they do something stupid; Only remembering being sad when you're sad; Thinking your life has been positive up until this point when feeling positive).

If you are at a point where you feel like all of your life has been negative, it's likely due to emotional distress caused by your current situation. It could be mental illness, a stressful familial situation, or lingering grief.

The only good things I remember are little pieces of the day my brother was born. The rest of it is being mad at this one girl in preschool and traumatic movies

Oh how I wish I could remember the good times better.. I went through a trauma as a young child (apparently) I had an operation when I was 18months and diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis at age 2.. I put my bad memory (not being able to remember the good stuff) down to whatever happened to me as a child..

Did something traumatic happen to you? Or something bad??

I think it's probably normal to be better able to recall memories to which strong emotions are attached, particularly negative, and even painful emotions. It's probably part of your survival instinct to be better able to recall memories that are unpleasant so that you can better prevent, and or avoid situations similar to the ones that caused the unpleasant emotional events of the past.

Nah normally the brain makes u remember the better things, that’s why many people think back to times and say they were not that bad even though in that time they were clearly not as well as they say now

Its the work of stress hormones adrenaline and noradrenaline. If this greatly interferes with your life you can take beta blockers, they reduce the impact of stress hormones and will blunt the intensity of negative memories.
