Is it normal that i never go out with friends because i'm broke?

I have basically no free money to just spend for fun, so I rarely go out and try to meet people or hang out with people that I do kind of know. I don't like the idea of other's paying for me all the time, I don't want to be a mooch, so I usually just don't do anything with others. I actually don't know anyone where I live really well, so just going over to aquantinces houses to hang out seems too awkward to be optional. Normal?

    Like the other person said, There's always a first for everything! or something like that lol. If you never break out of your shell how are you suppose to grow as a person? And you can always have fun for free, you could go on walks with your friends somewhere or just chill in your house or theirs.

    Be more confident! that's the key. it's not about the money.

    Can't you hang out with them to free places? And maybe going into a club but then dont buy any drink...

      Yeah, I guess I could, I'm just sorta shy and wouldn't know what to do.:P And I could go into a club, but I don't know how to dance so I'd probably just be standing around all awkward, lol.
