Is it normal that i never dream when i sleep?

I remember from reading through text books about the different brain wave patterns during sleep and when dreams actually occur during the REM stages. In other words we dream every time we allow ourselves/our brains enough sleeping time to fix and recoup this way. Even if we don't remember all of them.

I'm just sad that I very seldom dream, it has been this way for a couple years now. I loved dreaming, it was always such an amazing experience for me, is it normal that I no longer remember dreams? I wish I knew why.

    It's normal. If you want to dream, try waking up early in the morning, and then fall asleep again. Also keep a dream journal. Every time you dream, record it in as much detail you can remember, even if it's just a sentence. This tells your brain that you consider remembering your dreams to be important. Trust me, it works. It was one of the things I had to do to try to learn how to lucid dream. I went from rarely remembering my dreams to remembering one, two or even parts of a third every night. Research lucid dreaming- even if you have no intention to actually lucid dream, there is a lot of information on how to remember dreams since it's the most important part of it.

    Everybody dreams, but people rarely remember it. It's most likely that you're having dreams and you don't remember them.

    My advice is the same as q25t's: try to get more sleep.

    If you can't sleep, try taking a sedative, such as Syndol.

    N. =)

    I didn't remember mine for a few years and just started to again. You may do the same.

    The only reason I can think of for the change is I'm no longer sleeping less than 6 hours on average. So maybe more sleep?
