Is it normal that i need to force myself to cry

i literally just feel nothing and i would feel the need to cry in a certain situation so i don't get labeled as heartless/emotionless i would just force myself to cry and tears would come but my eyes doesn't turn red. is that normal?

Probably. Everyone experiences emotions differently, I’m guessing these situations are just like watching a sad movie or something rather than witnessing a brutal murder or seeing a child get ran over. It’s perfectly normal not to cry in the average every day situations most people experience.

The fact that you even consider pretending to cry shows how you care about the people around you and their reactions. For example, my grandma died when I was about 14 and I wasn’t really that close to her, nor did I have a strong opinion about her death but I still pretended to cry at her funeral because she was my dad’s mum and he was upset and I didn’t want him to be hurt by my lack of reaction

I've noticed in my 40s I just seem to naturally cry less unless something extremely horrible happens. I don't even cry in therapy even if I get tears in my eyes. It's Not that I can't cry. I just for some reason am Not moved to tears as much.

I can think myself into a panic attack and cry. Though I can't fake a cry.
