Is it normal that i'm using ketchup as stage blood?

In March I'm playing a role in a school performance, and in it, I get murdered. We've decided to use ketchup as stage blood. I just think being covered in ketchup is going to be kind of disgusting. IIN?

    Red corn syrup works best. Try that.

    Seeing as how ketchup is sticky and smells terrific I wouldn't want it on me either. I brand you, Normal. Rise Sir Normal.

    You can buy fake blood from a joke shop. Ketchup will smell nasty too.

    Nothing wrong with ketchup, except it looks absolutely nothing like blood.
