Is it normal that i'm still upset about my granddad's death?

My grandpa died of heart attack last year, and it still upsets me. I keep feeling empty and sad, but everyone around me seems to have moved on. I loved the guy, but is it normal to still be upset about his death?

Maybe you haven't gone through the grieving process completely? Of course I don't want that to come off as rude, but in order to move on you have accept it. You only have one life to live and he wouldn't want you to spend it grieving him. You obviously loved him very much, and it's hard for you, so I am sorry for this loss you feel so deeply and I wish you the best.

I am sorry to hear about your granddad's death. I can surely understand the connection between you and him. Mine is alive but still i can't imagine what will happen when he will leave me. No one else can fill their place in our heart. But remember one thing, he is watching you and you know something, he is also feeling sad watching you so empty and sad. He would have wanted you to remove the sadness about his death, he would have wanted you to know one thing, and that is, a person is really not dead unless and until he/she is alive in someone's thought, so from my point of view he is still alive, he lives in your thoughts. Don't be upset, start bringing a beautiful smile on your face, remember he is watching you and he will be happy if he will see you smiling. So leave the burden of emptiness and sadness, it's time to pick up some new stuff filled with happiness and joy.
Enjoy life, and remember he will live as far as he lives in your memory.
So that means he will be with you till you die..... Smile and spread happiness and joy....
