Is it normal that i'm still afraid of under my bed?

Every time I go to bed, I shut the light off, walk towards my bed and jump from as far away as I can to avoid my feet being too close to the floor beneath my bed.

My heart races afterward. I feel like an idiot. No one knows I do this because I'm not afraid if I'm not alone.

I never remember being afraid that there were monsters under there when I was little.

I don't know what I'm afraid is going to be under there now. I don't believe in monsters. I don't watch a lot of horrors or anything.

I'm 20 years old... Is this normal?

I'm not a monster and I only live under your bed because rent is so high. I appreciate you not getting your feet too close though, as they have smelled fairly bad in the past.

I hate having my foot hang off the bed because I think some monster from under my bed might grab it. O.O

maybe you had a weird dream. or maybe an effect from a childhood experience is kicking in. did a pet or sibling ever scare you from under the bed?

I also jump onto the bed sometimes because I hate thinking of hairy arms or something that could grab my ankle. EEEEEK! Now I don't want to sit with my feet under the computer desk :(

I'm afraid of the dark. I turn the hall light on at one end before I walk down, then turn it off, then turn the bedroom light on. I panic when it's dark behind me. I'll look over my shoulder, see a dark room, and bolt down the hallway. You're normal, and personally, I think it's kind of cute that you jump onto your bed.
