Is it normal that i'm still a virgin at 18?

I've always been very anxious when it comes to physical contact with people, and even though I've had girlfriends i've never gotten physical with them. I'm only realising now that I may be really behind on all of this because a lot of my drinking buddies talk about sex like its so casual and it almost feels pathetic to still be a virgin. I would like to lose it, but I don't know how I feel about hooking up with a random chick. I always felt like first time should be with someone special, but maybe I should just find someone so I can get my first time done and over with? or should I just wait until I find someone proper?

I'm the same very awkward about intimacy even with people I date. It takes longer to lose your virginity then but if it's uncomfortable to you to go there then you shouldn't force it just for the sake of losing it. You either stay single until you feel more comfortable with it or get a girlfriend who is patient.
18 is very young so it's not a big deal. I wish more people had the mindset that they wanted to wait until they meet someone special.

It is normal to be a virgin at 18 and even into the early 20s amongst introverted people. You just don’t hear about it because it’s taboo to talk about so most people don’t cry it from the roof tops.

Don’t prioritise your friends’ approval, it’s your sex life not theirs. It makes perfect sense to wait until it feels right. Just remember to use a condom when you do it, it only takes one sperm to make you a daddy.

It's fine to be a virgin at 18. No need to rush shit.
