Is it normal, that i'm starting to hate when people ask for promos?

So, I have a tumblr. I have 600+ followers and sometimes people ask me to check out their blogs. I'm somewhat okay with that, but I'm starting to hate when people complement me and then ask for a promo.

I recently got a message and this "person" said that my blog was dope and she ask for a promo! I don't even think this "person" is following me or is even "real". I find it pathetic when people ask these things. I know I probably did something similar when I signed up, but I didn't know the protocols. I basically just reblog things on there and I'm friendly to people. Why can't people just take their time with things? Why do they want to take the easy way out?!

I don't want to give this person a promo, but I don't want to hurt "her" feelings either. I would like to delete the message, but what if she's real and decides to say that I'm a rude person?
This is really getting on my nerves!

Is it normal that this pisses me off?

  • I kinda understand what you mean, I have a page on facebook and other pages from the same series will come on and be like "promo me! Tag me!" and it makes me sigh.

I managed to get where I was with fans and such without begging others for help so it annoys me when others go all sucky uppy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I might as well say I don't do fucking promos. It's one thing if I really care about the person, but another if someone is just trying to kiss my ass!

There's this fashion guy that has a instagram and there used to always be this guy on there that would literally harass him for a follow back. Which is another mistake I made by saying I'll follow back people. It kinda sucks when I have to follow blogs I don't like, like summer or really cliché blogs>_<

I guess I didn't want to hurt or offend people. I was a people pleaser. I took the "follow for follow policy" off, and whenever someone asks for a promo I'll publicly answer their question explaining that I don't do promos. People must have gotten the idea because, I haven't received a message like that in a long time.

      • I'm thinking of putting that on my page somewhere cause I'm sick of being asked. Also if someone's says "sub for a sub" or something like that, makes me go *sigh*.

I try to politely tell them I don't do that but some people don't take it too well :/

          "sub for a sub"?

Anyway, I'm more worried if I'll look like a bitch if I say I don't do fucking promos! But, I might as well.... This has only happened a few times, but it just makes me kinda nervous. I'm not in mood the for people to start flipping out!

Is "dope" suppose to be good or bad in this scenario?

Every day I get closer and closer to this... http://xkcd.com/166/

I guess it is supposed to be good.

I don't really get that kind of slang. I'm not trying to sound like a snob, but what happened to talking victorian english?!

I'm a young person, but I don't get most of what people say anymore.

That's why I say do what they do in XKCD and misuse it intentionally to make the teenagers cringe.

Man this song is so pwned!
