So recently i've made friends with a 17 year old boy. He has a 'thing' for kids under 10. I've never looked at children in that way before (and I know it's completely wrong) but recently i've had some thoughts (mostly about boys.. from 8 to 17 years old)... and i'm not sure if it's really 'me' or if he just got me thinking about stuff I shouldn't be thinking about.. I'm 18 and i'm female. So I really need to figure this out and get some help or something.

    I don't think there's anything that you "shouldn't" be thinking about. Self-censoring leads to all kinds of problems. But you should be asking yourself questions about where this is coming from. And if you don't get any answers, involve a professional who can help you look.

    Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law, and it harm none. You are what you are, and there is nothing wrong with it. I am exactly the same as that boy you describe, accept yourself, and you will have peace, deny this part of yourself and you will have only sadness. Be careful not to get in trouble when fulfilling your desires. You don't need help, the world around you needs help to open it's mind. People condemn us, but they know not what we do. Sure, pedophiles have harmed children in the past, but so long as you only do it with consent and without hurting them, you are not immoral in your actions.     As long as you don't act on these thoughts, you're not a bad person. For your own sake and for the sake of others, it would be best to talk to someone professional so you can get to the root of why you feel this and you can move on with your life and be happy.

    You should encourage this boy to seek help as well, remind him that what he desires causes untold damage and pain, he has no right to it. no one has that right no matter what they desire.

    One I don't think this is normal. But yes I have done this before. Two it is not ok though you do have to push the thoughts away and/or get away from the situation. If I did know someone else that was having these thoughts though I would tell someone about it because if something did happen and I could of stopped it and I didn't, I wouldn't be able to live with myself because it does freaking mess with the kids and the way they develop and grow. Listen to 101.1 f.m. pretty much every other person on there is messed up because of something like this.

    That's really sick :S do you even understand what kind of an impact sexual abuse has on a child? It ruins them. Do you want to be responsible for ruining someone's life?

    You need to get help and so does your friend. Stay away from this guy, if he has sexual thoughts about children, there is no way that he is a good person.
