Is it normal that i'm sick of hearing about inner beauty?

All I hear anymore is, inner beauty is important. It doesn't matter what you look like on the outside. True beauty comes from within. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW ANNOYING THIS GETS? I can't even go on fxxxing facebook without hearing it. Okay, I get it. People should never take care of there selves or wear makeup because you gotta work on your inner beauty only. Is it normal to feel this way? I'm honestly sick hearing this repeatedly. Are you guys sick of it? Please explain if you agree!

I actually haven't heard that for years. If anything, I've been hearing the opposite a lot. "Oh, man. I gotta get a facelift, I need to fill my wrinkles, need to dye my hair to cover up the white hairs" etc.

    • Every website I go on, all people talk about is how others are beautiful because they have a nice personality. It's like, when did this happen?

        "Every website I go on",

but half of what is said on the internet is regurgitated hyperbole, or people taking what sounds like the nicest thing to say so they don't have to put any real effort into what they're saying. Plus, a lot of people go online seeking out compliments by putting themselves down or talking about how they look so others will say "OMG! don't say such things, Lisa! You are pretty!", or "But beauty is on the inside, and you have a beautiful personality :D!!"

It can't be taken seriously in most cases.

P.S. And, yeah...it is pretty sickening; ignore it, though. That's the best medicine for those situations.

I'm not a fan of that phrase. It's a euphemism for ugly. Just because someone is ugly doesn't mean they're kind people.

inb4 "lol ya ur prouf dat a guy cn b ugli + mean lollll" FACK YOU

From a man who married a beautiful woman who then led him a miserable life, believe me personality or inner beauty if you like IS more important. Unfortunately we are programmed when young to be attracted to physical beauty, it;s just nature.

Some people never find their self identity, easier to preach yuh know. I think it's important to find your inner beauty, which in turn will give you the opportunity to make yourself look your best to you. I think that's what it should mean, if you gotta live in your body every day for the rest of your life why not make it just how you want it? The hard part is accepting yourself enough to want to be your body. But that's what happens when the collective insecurities and fears of an entire generation get published onto the internet all at one time.
Most kids that spent their entire lives connected to the internet everyday are still young in their early 30's at the oldest if I had to guess, the internet has become a cesspool of prepubescence, hahaha.

Beauty only exists if you believe it does. That's up to you man, haha

The moral of the story is... don't take anything people post on Facebook seriously. 99% of it is reddit spam anyway.

Meh, I don't exactly find annoyance with the idea of inner beauty or its publication. I think it's pretty lame how the idea that a person's outer appearance is irrelevant to their character. It's one of those subjects that I really wish would just die. At the end of the day, no one who isn't attracted to you because you are too fat or too pale doesn't have a spare thought about it before they put their head on their pillow. It's not worth you losing sleep over.

If anything, the "treat people the way you want to be treated" rule would be a better idea to advertise.
