Is it normal that i'm scared to shave my underarms?

I'm scared to shave my underarms because I'm scared of stubble being itchy and I'm afraid of change. I guess mostly I don't wan't stubble and I'm afraid the hair will grow back thick and dark and nasty. What should I do? Be nice please! Thanks! BTW, GIRLS ONLY.(:

  • When it came time for me to shave, I was deathy scared. I hate knifes, razors, and other shart pointy thinks coming at me like that. But my mom told me she would give me $50 if she cut me. And guess what? She never did.
Don't be scared. It seems scary at first and you might get yourself a few times but it's all practise. Just don't use a really shart razor when you first start. You'll want a sharper one later of course, but for the first few times a duller one is fine (not a rusted one though, those can cut you easier).
Also on the other hand, who says you have to shave. Personally, I was taught to but it varys from family to family and culture to culture. Many European women don't shave. I personally feel weird when I don't, but again it's totally up to you.
    Good luck :)

You really need to shave. Also, shaving doesn't actually make hair grow back thicker or darker. Do some research online and it should ease your fears.

I'm always afraid of getting cut because it stings so bad when you put deodorant on, ouch!!

  • It's okay it doesn't hurt to shave your armpits. But once you start make sure you keep up on it or it will get icky feeling when too much hair grows in.

I love shaving. I would 'pretend' shave in the bathtub with the razer and shaving cream.

  • Oh! And as for the nasty grow back, it doesn't usually happen. If you don't shave for, like, two months then I don't know. It will probaby grow back nasty. Just don't go two months without shaving. I think that onc you start shaving the hair grows quicker. Not sure, that's just what happened to me.
