Is it normal that i'm scared of driving?

I'm really scared of driving. I'm not scared of getting into an accident and dying, I'm scared of other people in the car dying because of my fault. I have a theory but I can't really prove it. My dad died in a car accident while in the passenger seat, the driver is still alive. He died when I was 13, I didn't even think about driving at that time so I can't know if the fear has always been there or it started after my dad's death.

    I'm scared of driving too. My mum forcing me to drive isnt helping me either.

    since your fears mimic what happened to your dad, it probably comes from his traumatic death.

    at any rate, you should probably try to overcome this fear and just be sure to be a good driver.

    I used to be scared to death of driving to the point that I would have nightmares about crashing and the brakes not working but once I started driving those fears slowly went away and now I can't wait to drive (I'm a new driver) trust me it gets easier :)

    YES!!! Driving is fucked-up. Many drivers are either homicidal maniacs or dangerously incompetent. Plus there's always random shit like weather or coddled teenage cunts dropping cinder blocks off highway overpasses just to "see what happens". What's the solution? I'm glad you asked. The key is to GET THEM BEFORE THEY GET YOU. Buy a gun. Keep it in your car. If someone looks at you funny at a stoplight - BLAMMO!!! Ditto if they cut you off, tailgate you, brake suddenly in front of you, or pull you over while wearing one of those pretend cop uniforms and driving one of those pretend cop cars you see all the time (clever bastards!).

    Or you could just sit at home and die in a house full of cats.

    I dont blame you I tried driving once and our car ran into a concrete pole now I dont want to drive and vow to never go on a highway now thats scary

    Im scared to drive because my mom is a pshycopath in the car, im afraid of driving because shes been into 8 accidents and i feel lik eshes gonna drive off the bridge, and she texts while she drives! If its this dangerous i dont wanna do it!

    Yea, I just turned 18 and my parents are all over me about driving, but I keep delaying reading the manual cause I'm scared I'm gonna crash. I also think I'd be more comfortable in a small car instead of the truck they got me...

    i was scared when i started driving because i thought that i was going to loose control of the car but then it never happened and I'm use to driving now, you'll probably get use to it too.
