Is it normal that i'm scared for 2012 end of world???

It won't happen. Start making good bets with believers. I did. Gonna make a good 2000$ when that day comes and nothing happens. If it does happen, we'll all be dead so I win both ways. Woot!

Okay, does everyone want the full story? The Mayan Calendar resets at 21 December 2012 just like an odometer on a car, that's all. It's not like your car explodes when it gets to 999 it just simply goes back to 000 :-) So don't stress people. I think everyone needs to watch the End Of Ze World on YouTube :-D

im soooo indifferent about 2012. i didn't buy into it until I started repeatedly seeing the numbers 1111 in sequence. I googled it and apparently the mayans said the world ends at 11:11 on 12/21/12. supposedly seeing 1111 is like a phenomena. im kinda paranoid, but maybe that's just the weed

If they did think it is real, they wouldn't bother making webpages of countdown.

Just imagine how many people predicted the end of the world before Google. And your life just went on, because you didn't even know about it. The fact that you accidentally came across one doesn't change anything.

Also, the shake of scientific explanation:
People say this will be the end of the word because the calendar the Mayas used was only completed till that day.
It is like if we sad: The first generation of PC's used calendars that worked till only 2000. That doesn't mean that the developers thought the word will end in 2000 anyway, so who needs a calendar beyond 2k, but they just thought new computers will be invented till that day, and why the hell bother that 256 kbyte computer with calculating events 75 years in the future. And mostly they were right. Most of the computers had no difficulty turning to 2000. They just had a reasonable array of time with considering the practicability of everyday use. The Mayas had an about 4500 year of buffer, which means they wasn't just some bored computer designer, and they wanted to make a long standing calendar, but a list of days (according to logics) has to end somewhere, and every date passes once. They simply thought that in 4500 years someone will build a new stone calendar anyway.
So we could say it's the end of word because the calendar ends, an we did at 2k as well. And, well, not so surprisingly, nothing has happened.

Not as if some human draws twelve boxes on a paper and says it is a calendar changed anything about the nature forces or the orbiting of Earth.

Although I have a 1012 countdown on my iPhone, because I think it is funny.

It won't all end on one day in 2012 . If anything does happen.., ( which it won't ) your likely to suffer over a longer period of time ( extreme temperatures, no water etc.)

Im scared too, but it is highly unlikely that it will actually happen. Over the years, there have been loads of predictions that the world was going to end, but it never happened. In fact, there was one a few years ago which said that the world would end in 2010. It didn't. Just try to think of other things and enjoy yourself so that you don't get paranoid about it. Also, I looked at a webpage, created by NASA, which says that it will not end.

LOL.... nah... I wouldn't worry too much about it.... it's not actual fact, they can't see into the future, they have no way of knowing... just because the Mayan calendar predicts it doesn't mean it will happen.. It is one culture's theory, and a theory is all it is. They make it sound concrete, and that it WILL happen, but unless it's in God's plan, I highly doubt it will happen.

For the world to end and EVERYBODY killed, we would need like a ton of nukes to go off simultaneously, natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes etc. Hell, to end everyone's like we would need things like wars and diseases.

I hate the people that honestly think that all the things mentioned above will happen. It's ludicrous and silly.

I say i belive but hope it dosnt hapen just in case im going to buy a hazmathsuit and find a bunker in russa and take food and toilet paper

But now came to my mind that I have almost successfully offered to one of my friends who flew first time, that, if that helped him to calm down, I was so sure, that I would bet him that his plane wouldn't crash.

Wen y2k approached do u know how much money these stores made from buying gallons upon gallons of water and canned foods and watever ppl needed to survive. Pleeease!! And then wow wen it became 12 midnight I still had my lights on and others were stuck with all the stuff they bought. Just relax. There will b a day web the world ends but I highly doubt it will b that day.

It's because the Mayan calender (some fancy world calender or something) ends on 21 December 2012. I don't believe it will happen, it's just another scare. You have nothing to worry about. I actually want to be there when the world ends, too bad I'll be like a billion years old.

It's like the thousands of other armageddon scares. They thought the world would end in 1000 AD. And then in the 1800s, there was a form of Christianity where the believed the world would end on a certain day. And then the Y2K scare...
