Is it normal that I'm in love with a complete asshole? I've been talking to him for a year on and off and he keeps breaking my heart. We've never dated but he means so much to me and he knows it. We'll get really into talking and then when things get serious he always has some excuse to leave. Well this time he told me he liked some girl that I knew but she didn't like him so I was giving him advice and we fell in love again. But the girl figured out and told him that she now liked him. So he's all confused. He tells me that he needs to "chose" like what's there to chose about? She's completely verbally abusive towards him and plays with his heart. I've always been here for him and he's never noticed. Idk what to do. He chose her btw but she said she didn't like him like that anymore
So he's back to talking to me

    It's normal. We all fall for the wrong person every now and then for reasons we're not entirely sure of, but the feelings are there.

    What you can do is detach yourself from this guy. All you are is a back-up plan to him, a consolation prize when he doesn't get the girl he wants.

    No worries though, the feeling always comes back if you leave yourself open to it, and hopefully it's for a much better guy who feels the same about you.
