Is it normal that i'm not very close to anyone?

So I'm in high school and I'm a little shy, but I get along just fine with others, I'm not bullied or anything. I have friends and acquaintances, but I don't have a best friend. I can't really ever remember having anyone around who I could talk with about almost anything or really trust or just call up anytime to hang out and feel completely like myself and good in their company.
Even my relationship with my parents doesn't feel strong enough. They're great and we get along and stuff, but I just can't talk to them about many personal issues.

    I'm like this, only i never put my full trust into the people. In high school, i always did thy because they were people who never saw the big picture.

    I'm always amazed (and appalled) at the drama that many people allow into their lives. I am more solitary. There's nothing wrong with it, but it does get old sometimes.
