Is it normal that i'm not close with my dads family at all?

I guess I was with my moms family more when I was younger but I still met and got to know my dads side too. As me and my sister grew up wen we would go to their family reunions they would isolate us and just talk among themselves. I guess I learned to deal with it. It's gotten a little better as we all have grown up and matured but the way I see it now I don't see them in my future life that much. Me and my sister do have a close relationship with our 2 first cousins on that side. They're girls around the same age so that helps, but when they get around the family they kind of distance themselves too. It's weird and sad but I'm used to it.

    THAT IS SO ME! i hate my dad's family, fucking much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i guess they know i hate 'em but who cares? i never felt comfy when sit around them or in family reunion. some of them are nice but i dont know i just hate them.

    I'm close to neither side of my family. My father's side I don't like (and my parents aren't in love with them either, so I was never forced to try and put up with them) and my mother's side I don't know at all (not even 2nd cousins) because I grew up in a different country. But I don't mind, in fact I don't feel like I'm missing out or anything, I have all the family I need :)

    You know as time passes the person that you will have in your life will be your husband and children. You'll not feel as close to your sibblings as you used to when you were all home. You shouldn't feel sad. This happens all the time.
