Is it normal that I can't come into the living room and watch TV because my family hates me?
If I go and watch alone my little brother will come in and will insist that he gets the remote. I dont want to give it up so I will try and find a show we both like, but he will still insist that he needs control, and will just change it to something i dont like on purpose. My parents also will always back him up and If I don't give it to him, my parents will kick me out and take away something I like.

    I don't know if your family 'hates you' just because they don't want to watch your shows. How do they act to you the rest of the time? Maybe your parents also like the show your brother wants to watch. Maybe they think you should be more mature instead of arguing with a little kid over the remote. Or they're taking the lazy way out of not having to deal with a little kid's tantrum over not getting the remote.

    Firstly, I don't think they hate you. But it sounds like your family have control issues and/or your little brother is ridiculously babied to the point where he just gets what he wants regardless.
