Is it normal that i'm losing faith in humanity?

I'm not trying to sound ignorant but I just think people are just sad these days. I'm not sure about other countries but the United States, I think at least, is falling apart and it's mostly thanks to the poor quality of its citizens.

I work outside in a store and I have a lot of time to observe people walking in and out of the store, and lately it seems like people just have no respect or any courtesy at all! No one cares about anything or anyone for that matter, people just walk by someone that needs help, they ignore their surroundings and do as little as possible at everything they do.

I could go on and on, just wanted to know am I going crazy or is anyone else seeing this?

It's not often that I see people like this, although something similar happened to me when I was in London for some reason. I came across some very rude people there, and they just couldn't seem to care less about anyone else. I don't like to generalise, and I'm sure it's a just a few mean people there, but it was just weird to me. I really dislike impolite people. It doesn't make me lose my faith in humanity, although I guess it is a bit disheartening. I don't expect people to be perfectly polite all the time, but people who are generally considerate are great.

Losing your faith in humanity seems like a strong reaction, though. Chin up, OP, there are plenty of lovely people out there.:)

Brother, there is nothing unusual about your experience of London. People there have fallen into this 'I'm the most important thing on earth' mentality, which is peculiar because when Londoners are spoken to in isolation they tend to speak like normal people who care, but once they lock the door and leave for work it's fuck or be fucked I'm afraid.Don't loose faith, just remember that when people get home they tend to be just like you..a normal caring human being. We do exist, have faith.(but not in god)

humans beings are ignorant, selfish, arrogant and disgusting creatures. it is not wierd to think humanity is going down the drain, because it is. we're fucking up the earth and our resources, we rely too much on technology which ultimately will fail us, and were all gonna die from fucked up diseases because shit like clubbing and 'teen mom' is popular, and no one wants to keep their shit in their pants. it almost pains me to consider myself human. now is that normal? i dont give a fuck, because it's true.

The trick is, they want you to believe you're crazy. But you're probably very intelligent among a sea of sheeple.

Let's go ahead and complain about humanity like we're not part of it, shall we.

    Incorrect.

To have 'faith', means 'to trust'.

It is impossible to trust all of humanity, and the record of humanity (as a whole), is a dismal failure.

One is only able to trust a select group of individuals, within society.
Trust in yourself first; your own abilities and ambitions.

To 'respect', means 'to look back at'.

If the people who are at the store have no respect, this means that they are not cognizant of what was there before the store was built (which is probably true).
