Is it normal that i'm less healthy now i've stopped smoking?

Ok, I used to smoke weed and cigarettes heavly.
I would smoke about 1gram of pot, and at least 10 cigarettes every day. I would usually have 3 beers everyday also.
I had been doing this for about 5 years now.
For my newyears resolution I decided to quit all my vice's and went cold turkey, and I havent smoked weed or cigarettes since new years... easier than i thought it would be. Only problem is now I'm expieriencing medical problems that I never had before..
I have just got oral thrush, my teeth have started bleeding when I brush them and I have skin flaking off on my shoulders, elbows, and hands. I even had blood seeping through my skin on my shoulders.

The doctor seems to think my immune system is down, could this be from quiting weed/ciggs? Maybe stress to my body?

FYI: dont have HIV, not gay, have one sexual partner. (these are common questions when diagnosing these symptoms)

Just wondering if anyone else has had an effect like this from quiting drugs, I have also had colds and fevers since quiting (I only had 2-3 in the last 5 years before quiting vice's)

Maybe I should start smoking weed again?

i was curious about your shoulders bleeding so i goooogled it. a girl in india had the same thing and it turned out to be a rare disease. so if i was you, i would go to a different doctor for a second opinion because the one you are seeing now doesnt really seem to be very good by just saying that its your immune system. the story said that there is no cure and the girl kept having to get blood transfusions. i hope that this is not the case for you. best of luck!

I went thru a phase where I was coughing a shit load when I quit smoking - the doctor said that I would be going thru a phase where my body will be clearing out the junk hence me being sick for a shitload.

I don't know about the skin on your shoulders but when you smoke the blood vessels in your mouth constrict so there was less blood flow in your gums. Since quitting smoking it is highly likely your blood vessels have adjusted so now you are noticing more bleeding in your mouth. My suggestion would be to see your dentist/dental hygienist to remove the deposits on your teeth to see if that helps.

When you smoke, the body gets used to producing phlegm in response to the irritant smoke and stops producing so much phlegm as a natural response. Stopping smoking cold turkey leaves you short of protective phlegm and more open to (in particular) colds and flu.

My friend gets a flu jab whenever he tries to give up smoking because he is also an asthmatic. As for your other symptoms, no idea. Sorry.

what are your dietary habits? if you aren't eating healthy and perhaps lacking nutrition, it might be helpful to go see a dietician... maybe get off the cigs but i guess smoking a bit of weed would help.. if this is the root issue. LOL.

i have a really healthy diet, no junk food, mainly vegetarian meals with at least 1 meat meal, 1 fish meal a week.
i was abit unclear with my post, but i quit ciggs AND weed at the same time because i couldt do one without the other (i used to mix tobacco with my weed, so thats why).

Maybe going cold turkey was a bad idea? I've heard just quitting smoking cigarettes cold turkey would mess you up.
