Is it normal that i'm kind to strangers but not to people i know?

I'm especially kind and courteous to strangers but I have a tendency to lose my patience with my close friends and family which makes me snap at them sometimes. I'm not an asshole to them or anything. I love my friends and family but I tend to be excessively nice to strangers, to the point where I go out of my way to help them. Does anyone else do this?

If they look good and are nice to me I have no reason not to return the courtesy... But I dont give away anything over 10 cents and will not get in the van to find a lost puppy...

You should be nice to all people. You don't know strangers so it is easy not to get irritated with them so easily.

I have the same thing, but my reason is that my friends and family are jerks in general and abused the crap out of me emotionally. Maybe you could take my example and do some reflecting on your past to see why?

Yes. I dont know why i do this either. maybe i want to make a good impression or something, maybe you get mad at your friends and family because you know them so its allowable. Its hard for me to understand why i do this too.
