Is it normal that i'm jealous of my father?

I'm 18 years old and I still live with my parents. I always joke around with my mother about how she loves my father more than me, but I get really jealous when she spends more time with him.

When it's our 'mommy and daughter time' she would instantly drop everything because he needs something from her. When I get in a fight with my father, which happens alot, she always chooses his side and when they finished badmouthing me, while I can still hear them, she comes to my room and say that she's on "my side".

When I ask her to help my with something she always has to run and do something for him first, even though she was doing nothing when I asked her for help. He always comes first and I come second.

Again I ask: "Is it normal that I'm jealous of my father because he gets all of my mother's attention?"

    I'm also jealous about my father but for a different situation from yours. He is doing electrical engineering but isn't yet a complete engineer. The thing is that I'm not into engineering stuff (which seems to have a very good salary) because I also think I won't qualify for being one. So my dad's always bluffing about how he will earn a lot of money than mine and my mom. I envy him for that and I also find it so unnecessary for him to see himself superior and us being inferior. Oh he's such a piece of work..a jackass actually.

    Go out and get your own man and let your parents have their life. Perhaps you would rather have been raised in a family where the parents hated each other, just so you could have your 'mommy and daughter time'?
