I saw a Youtube video, with a picture of a hot girl, wearing a thong. Some guy commented "I would rape her" Fucked up, right? But the comment also had 143 likes... WTF? Is it normal to think that's wrong/weird? I know this is stupid to worry about but I don't understand people sometimes...
I'm regularly disturbed, irritated and enraged by certain things that I read online. I think what REALLY disturbs me, though, is knowing that I can't very well reach through the computer screen, grab the offending person, and beat them to death right then and there.
I agree with SOT9. There have been many comments on YouTube that have struck fear and angry in my beating heart. But of course, I don't have a YouTube account so, I can't report those comments:/ I think that YouTube needs to better monitor it's comments and what not. The fact that it got so many likes greatly disturbs me. Regardless, of whether it was a joke or not, it shouldn't be taken lightly. I can't believe that they're some people that agree with rape. That there're some people that actually think that it's okay to deflower a woman without consent. It really sickens me.
At least you did not get a message from a 96 year old saying he likes kids cartoons and using as a metaphor for fucking little kids. With a channel full of videos of all his spiders and snakes. Now this is when you must truly worry.

It is most likely just something hes saying still you cant know for sure...
I think that someone in a position of authority should find out who made that comment, and take steps to correct that type of behaviour BEFORE it becomes a crime.

You have to realize that a lot of stuff on the internet isn't even serious. Doing something like this wouldn't actually help at all, only restrict the freedom of speech.
I'm all for freedom of speech, but we should know what is the 'lunatic fringe'.
Thing is, you can't know. Not on the internet, where jokes and serious statements can be easily interpretted as one another.
Police have better things to be doing besides calling people for random crap said on the internet, they'd be calling people by the second. And I really don't like the idea of someone "checking up" on me everytime I decide to make a morbid joke. I really, really, hate the idea of somebody monitering everything I say, and calling me if it violates some nonsense regulation rule. And what would calling even do? Any rapist with the mind of a half dead goldfish wouldn't tell them they're a rapist anyway.
Yes, of course it's normal. There are all kinds of people on the Internet that I'd never want to meet in real life. Plenty of anti-Semites, for example. Just ignore them. Don't feed the trolls.

It's very disturbing to see many YouTube comments. Sadly, many of them are sincere. I think in this case it wasn't sincere and it was just an immature kid posting.
Yeah I have a friend who says things like that, it's supposed to be taken as a joke.
There are crazy people on youtube all of the time ! I've been called a monkey, the n word , and God only knows what else. Yesterday, someone commented on my video, "ur a girl dont talk bout sports" . I didn't even respond! Stupid trolls

Oh my, you need to stop worrying about this, there's a lot of worse things on the internet than a rape comment.
It's meant as a joke, though yes, it is normal to dislike the immaturity and sick humor of people these days.
